Summer of 2012, I ended up in Munich by accident. The city is epic and beautiful. My friend Daniel Ade from Mexico was living in Bettehiem, It was a great experience being in Schwaben with such a good friend.
In 2011 I traveled to live with the Iban tribe in the Sarawak region of Borneo. I spent 3 days traveling the Skrang river in a hand made longboat with my Iban guide and his father. The Iban were the head hunting Rangers of WW2. I met one of the last true headhunters who I came to affectionately know as Aki (Grandfather) Such kind people, wonderful rice wine and a simple life on the river working their rice and cash crops. I was honored with a traditional tattoo by tapping method that took 7 hours. The ink was home made from ashes and honey.
What an amazing Christmas we had. Both Kids with the ex’s so Tina and I loaded up and headed south from the Phoenix Arizona to La Paz Mexico. We took a fiery back to the mainland of Mexico in Topolabombo and headed North for Puerto Penasco just in time the Annual New Years Eve Benefit!
A call came in that people on the Baja were in trouble with out drinking water and basic supplies. So on September 15th Many friends and family came to answer the call, armed with water purification systems that will provide enough drinking water for a 1300 a day we set off first to Puerto Penasco then to Guymas and the next day accross the sea of cortez in my trusty Saratoga filled to the roof with supplies for the people of Cuidad de Insurgentes. The people were amazingly kind and my host and coordinator Diplimato Juan Hernandez the trip was a huge success.
